Lamu Island – Kenya

It is an integral part of the Lamu Archipelago in Kenya. Old Town is the capital of the island. Created from coral stone and beams of mangrove,  homes in the city have internal courtyards, verandahs and detailed carved wooden doors. The island hasn’t roads, only paths and lanes. Kenyans are moving mostly on foot, which is not a problem for them. For cargo use boats or donkeys.
