Praslin is the second largest island of the Seychelles, with a population of about 6,500 inhabitants. Once a refuge of pirates and Arab merchants, today is a popular tourist destination with several hotels and resorts. The white sandy beaches such as Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette, are one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. In addition, the island has a large expansion of tropical forests rich with various birds, including the endemic Seychelles Bulbul. The island is known for a unique kind of Coco-de-mer palm, which has the shape of female ass and the vanilla orchid.
